“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”

George Orwell

Throughout history, there have been those that have sought to preserve what has worked in a society, and those who have sought to radically transform it beyond recognition. At Liberty Affair, we fundamentally reject this purported dichotomy – we seek both to preserve what works and radically transform what does not.

In the past decade, America and the broader world have experienced a revolution when it comes to the way information is disseminated and consumed. Amidst this, it has become abundantly apparent that for much of the media, bias and agenda come first, while honesty and integrity always seem to come last (if at all).

The divisiveness that is so palpable to us on a daily basis is a predictable byproduct of the way our media functions. The oft-maligned corporate press may consider their work a service to the public, and perhaps at times it actually is. But in reality, their emphasis is on extracting clicks and soundbites – not on informing the public or speaking truth to power.

So long as this publication exists, we will hold ourselves to a different kind of standard. Our purpose, our mission, is to contribute on some level to creating a better-informed citizenry. Our readers may not always agree with what we have to say, but they will always encounter a wide array of perspectives, as well as subject matter.

We hope you will join us as we embark on this humble mission. To Liberty and Beyond!
